Eric Oliverio knows a thing or two about competition. The Ellicottville high school student has been competing in various sports throughout his life, but winning the Golden Gloves tournament, the most prestigious award in amateur boxing, certainly has its merits. His win over Rashawn Leonard of Rochester brought him home a newfound title, Golden Gloves Champion.

The KnockoutFactorys own Dustin Sharp and Eric Oliverio both returned  home from Jamestown, NY this weekend as Golden Gloves Champions. The two fought very tough fights, winning their own weight classes, Dustin at (168lbs Novice), and Eric at Novice 119lbs, respectively. Teammates Sean Stahlman (178lbs Open Class) and Brad Stahlman Jr (100lbs Novice) both competed and made it to the final rounds of the tournament but were defeated via judges decisions after the last bell of their bouts.

Stopping his opponent in the 2nd round, Mr. Sharp was elated." I have been practicing and persevering throughout nagging injuries and personal setbacks, but this victory makes it all worthwhile" said the new champion. "The roadwork, the bag work, watching my diet, it all adds up. Its the sacrifices we make to be the best"

Mr. Oliverio found solace in his newfound championship status, adding that this is his 3rd consecutive win, "I like training and seeing my skills develop. It's a great way to stay in shape and fine tune my muscles. I know I will only continue to get better  in this sport"
